New look, new features on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com

MADISON, Wis. (July 14, 2008) - Edgewood College recently unveiled a newly re-designed EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com in their continuing effort to bring Eagle fans the most current, most complete information in an exciting and user-friendly format. The Edgewood College sports information office contracted Internet Consulting Services (ICS) of Syracuse, New York to design EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com and provide a content management system through their web-based software program SIDEARM.
“We are very excited about the improved EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com,” said Sports Information Director David Petroff. “It has given us an updated look with maximum flexibility in presenting our student-athletes, broadcasts, pictures and statistics in the manner which suits Edgewood College the best. I’m confident our fans will take advantage of the new features and feel more connected to our Eagle teams than ever before.”
The new EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com has a number of new and enhanced features, including:
· Live Stats for seven different sports with an improved display - Men’s and Women’s Soccer and Volleyball will now also have live statistics for home matches, in addition to Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Softball which launched last year. Viewers will be able to follow along with a professional interface which will display a student-athlete’s picture and bio along with the statistics. Live audio broadcasts of selected events will also be available.
· Text message alerts - Fans of the Eagles will be able to sign up for text message alerts to let them know about schedule changes, game results or breaking news.
· Edgewood College Eagles blog - Sports Information Director David Petroff maintains the new blog which features stories and journals from the athletes, alumni news, and fun or unusual stories that do not appear on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. In the future, viewers will find in-game blogs to give them another perspective on the games in progress.
· Videos from the Edge - Last winter, Edgewood College launched their new YouTube video channel. Fans can tune in to see highlight clips, interviews with coaches and players, as well as features on groups and events happening at Edgewood College outside of the athletic department.
· RSS Feed - Subscribe to Edgewood College’s RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed and get new stories delivered to you in your e-mail inbox or directly through your web browser.
· Edgewood College Athletics Storefront (Available Soon) - Users will be able to choose, design and purchase approved Edgewood College athletics gear directly through EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com. The selection will include hundreds of items from hats to sweatshirts to coffee mugs to duffle bags, which can all be imprinted with the Edgewood College logo of your choice.
· Recruiting Questionnaire and Feedback Forms - Future Eagles can use the recruiting questionnaire to introduce themselves to the head coach in their chosen sport, while any Eagle fan can use the Feedback form to drop us a comment or a question.
Edgewood College’s 2008-09 athletic season begins on the weekend of August 29-31 when women’s tennis, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball will all open their seasons with home contests.
